You mentioned "barely profitable" not something that Sky is known for .... IMHO ....

Across the ISP industry as a whole, an individual account loses money as soon as a support call needs answering.

@cassally while the industry could have done a better job with replacing the old POTS service I dont agree that it is a major issue for the vast majority of people. Only a small minority of Sky's 6 million plus customers want to use their own routers in the first pkace. Of those the huge majority find an acceptable work round as we have explained.
The issue with users with Telecare alarms and medical kit is real and at last looks to being handled but given the organisations providing this kit have had at least 10 years notice of the change the fact many had done nothing until this blew up lat year says more about their planning than the inevitable development of technology.
Note fitting a home battery does not guarantee a continous service during a power cut as many systems require mains power to work. As it hapoens Tesla systems do but many dont.
