How do you set up own router with sky FTTP? Full fibre now available in my road so may consider changing from virgin media but would only consider if I can easily set up my own router

Using any router other tgan a Sky hub means you cannot use the landline facility Sky provide.

I have a linksys velop AX4200. With my current virgin setup it is on automatic DHCP there is option to change to static or PPPoE so am unsure will have to confirm with sky over. the phone before going ahead.

The Linksys Velop AX4200 supports DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation (PD) and this can be used with Sky in about 80% of cases for obtaining a public IP address on the WAN interface when authorising the connection with Sky's infrastructure.

Is the DHCP optiion 61 only needed for the older copper adsl set up? Can you use PPPoE with the FTTP with a openreach ONT? Seen it seems more simple with other providers just cant seem to get a definite answer on here.

Sky use IPoE in the UK for both FTTC & FTTP services. PPPoE is used by Sky in ROI for the same services.
PPPoE is used by Sky in the UK for the 'essentials' product (regular ADSL)

is there any chance you could explain in a bit more depth, maybe even screenshots of your settings as i am struggling to get my Linksys AX4200 to connect to the IPV6 service, it just says connecting but never aquires an address, the IPV4 connects with no issues via the connection to the ONT through the AX4200 WAN socket. Any help would be greatly appreciated @apefc
