Re: Use my own router?
@Marcva First off looks like you have full fibre with the speeds that you indicate, and second as you do not say would look like you have the Black Sky Broadband Hub SR203 as mention being able to have split the bands for the 2.4/5Ghz. Single band control then the device connects as required and picks the band, but your 2.4Ghz speed is low, you should be able to get higher unless the band is really busy, everything on a Network is shared! If you can say what you have, but you will need to get to grips with a third party Router for operation, they are not like a sky hub designed to just go on connect and work on a sky network and NONE off sky's test etc will function anymore and issues if you have any then sky will be off zero help as they can only check there own units!
And the final point, sky hubs DO NOT have a modem mode of operation! If you have a landline phone you NEED to keep the sky hub front and centre no other way for that landline to operate over sky supplied and connected service!

Re: Use my own router?
@Marcva I would suggest getting a third party mesh system for your home network. Turn off the WiFi on the Sky Hub and use mesh in Access Point (AP) mode.
Even in AP mode you should have ability to split bands, guest networks etc.
You can go cheap or very expensive.
1000/115 FTTP (Aquiss) to Zyxel DX3301
3 x Asus XT9s + 2 x RT-AC58U V3 for WiFi (AP mode)
65" Samsung S92C OLED TV
C430 Samsung soundbar with subwoofer
6 other streaming TVs
43+ network connected devices
