Upgrading to Sky Broadband

I'm nearing on 4 years as a Sky TV customer and I'm moving house in a couple of days time. I've processed the move with Sky and asked if possible to have Sky Broadband installed at the new house. Only to be told I can't have it installed as I've now got to wait until the new house is set up with Sky BEFORE I can be booked in to get Sky Broadband.

What a farce, surely they can acknowledge the move and just book in for an engineer to come out. Now instead I have to wait nearly two weeks for me to then be able to book an engineer according to who I spoke with on the phone at Sky.

Surely there's a quicker way?

As far as i can see you should be able to complete your moving home with sky

Is there anyone in the house at the minute?

What do the notes below the table say?

Re: Upgrading to Sky Broadband

No we have the keys. We know we can have Sky as we've processed it with them and got a date for Sky TV to be installed there. But they're reluctant to book us in for Sky Broadband because we don't have Sky there yet.

Openreach need to have a line in . Which they are close to having . The install stage 2 indicates additional work needs done which will show in the notes below the table  if you could post the notes please

Overhead feed with alternate l2c.

Which usually means a specialist crew is needed as openreach can't safely attach a tetra ladder to the wall.

However there is absolutely nothing stopping you from placing the order as far as i can see

Did you do this online or by phone

You would need to call sky for advice

Contact sky as below

Follow the link and choose need more help

If in the Republic of Ireland go to the bottom of the page and change the flag to Republic of Ireland

Re: Upgrading to Sky Broadband

I rang them, to which I was told I would need to wait until the engineer has been and done the SkyTV to confirm I live at said address (even though I move in 2 days time). Instead of not just getting an opportunity to book one so I could have the next available time slot after an engineer has been. So basically I'm going to end up in the new house for weeks before I get WiFi

Sky tv and broadband are different things. If sky told everyone that ordered tv and broadband that they need to be in the house to order broadband it would make moving home wth sky would be pointless.
