Upgraded to full fibre gigafast with sky max hub now mini boxes don't transmit wifi

I recently upgraded to full fibre gigafast and had the new sky max hub fitted.

After updating our Sky Q 2TB and 3 mini boxes to the new network there doesn't seem to be a wifi mesh across the house anymore. We have one mini box in a garden room, connected by ethernet, which is connected and we receive a satelite signal. This set up used to give us full wifi within the house and across the garden into the garden room. Now we lose wifi as soon as we are out the back door, even though there's a mini box just inside the back room and in the garden room. It's as if the mini boxes aren't acting as wifi boosters anymore.

I have updated all the software on them and repeatedly reset them and rest the network, but they just don't transmit a wifi signal.

Anyone got any advice or had this issue after upgrading the router? I'm stuck and can't find any information anywhere.

Cheers

Yes thats correct, the Sky Q system is incompatible with the new Max system when it comes to mesh/WiFi boosting.

Well that's incredibly disappointing! Even more so to not be told that when taking out the Max system.

Any idea on how to extend the wifi to my garden room? Either using the ethernet that is down there, without it disconnecting the mini box or by piggy backing an extender down to it? One problem I see is that the mini box is connected to the main Sky Q 2TB box and not the Max router, so I assume a wifi extender won't be able to use that.

You could try connecting the end of the ethernet cable to a switch, then connect an Access point & the Q box to the switch. This will essentially keep the Q box happy while hopefully providing a connection to the AP.
