Upgraded to Gigafast days before Gigafast+ announced
Hey
As the thread title suggests I upgraded my Sky Broadband from the Openreach network to full fibre Gigafast, just days before Gigafast+ was announced.
CityFibre came on Tuesday and installed the fibre cable under my drive and into my house, and after a small issue completed their end of the job on Thursday. They then told me that Sky will contact me to let me know I can unplug my old router and switch over to the 'new' Sky Max hub. They haven't yet done this.
All while this was happening, I see that Sky have announced Gigafast+, with a brand new WiFi 7 hub.
Do you think they will let me upgrade again so soon?

If city fibre have upgraded their equipment in your area then you will be able to upgrade once the service is available

Re: Upgraded to Gigafast days before Gigafast+ announced
UPDATE: Sky messaged me on Monday to say my FTTP was up and running, so I checked the MySky app and it was offering me the upgrade option...
The still unopened Sky Max router is going straight back. The brand new Gigafast+ WiFi7 router arrived yesterday, and this morning I disconnected my OpenReach setup and plugged it in, hooked it up to my Ubiquiti UniFi network and everything just... started working!
I've gone from 40mb to 500+mb in an instant, and should eventually get speeds up to 5Gb (guaranteed at 2.5gb)
Very happy! 😁

@GavYCK You should ensure that you get a 5Gb/s Ethernet and connect it to the new Hub, wireless is just never going to get you up anywhere near the speed to test the connection!

@cgskyfaq you can only grt Gigafast+ if your address has access to City Fibre's network if you do you should be able to upgrade using the link in My Sky in the Broadband section.
