Re: Upgrade to fibre doesnt seem worth it
C:\Windows\System32>ping bbc.co.uk -n 6
Ping statistics for 2a04:4e42::81:
Packets: Sent = 60, Received = 58 Lost = 2 (3% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 19ms, Maximum = 108ms, Average = 38ms
I was sat no more than 3ft from the router and done the test through WiFi connection.

Re: Upgrade to fibre doesnt seem worth it
@Degsy1984 Couple off packets lost, and a little delay on the ping with the maximum 108ms response, but your wireless network could have been busy, try it a few times if you do not mind with some gaps inbetween time wise.

Re: Upgrade to fibre doesnt seem worth it
@JimM1apart from the laptop running the test, it was only a tablet streaming a YouTube video that was online at the time of the test. No consoles or anything else were running but surely given the increase in speed with FF, the same connected devices shouldn't be experiencing more lag spikes then when they were connected via the copper-cable BB. Also, given the cost involved, should the customer need to go through this hassle? Not a slight against yourself, I really appreciate the time you've taken to help me

Re: Upgrade to fibre doesnt seem worth it
@Degsy1984 As a customer just like yourself agree, fibre is better, i have zero issues using a SR203 router on the FF500 connection, but i also have 2 Asus router's and more distributed network equipment throughout, and You Tube video's that's the wife's thing as she is constantly on it and i see a little hit now and again, but and this is my forte (wireless network is sound) as i know and trust every device that is on it, the network is shared, sometimes things crop up, speeds slow a little, pages load just a little slower.
And i can Ethernet connect laptop to the router and for sure i will run Max all the time.

Re: Upgrade to fibre doesnt seem worth it
*update* so having lost connection on Sunday, Sky got Openreach to come out and turns out it was a shoddy FF instalation. A spliced cable failed. Repaired and all seems good. Thanks all for your help

@Degsy1984 Can and does sometimes happen, let's hope that this is now the fix, light does not like a badly spliced connection!
