Upgrade from Ultrafast Broadband to Full Fibre
I currently have Ultrafast Broadband and am thinking of upgrading to Full Fibre.
Will I be able to upgrade on my current contract or would I have to take out a new 24 month contract?
Also (like many others) I have been offered a better Broadband deal through my mobile phone provider, but have a few months left on my Sky contract. What sort of deal does Sky offer existing customers, as their deals to new customers seem competitive.

Re: Upgrade from Ultrafast Broadband to Full Fibre
Have spoken to Sky and they told me the following.
They cannot upgrade my Superfast broadband to full fibre for my current contract price, which surprised me as I thought this has been offered in the past.
If for example I was to go for the Full Fibre 500 they would charge me £41 per month which is £8 more than I already pay, but it would be in line with my current contract period.
I told them our mobile phone providers offer Full Fibre 500 on a 24 month contract for £33 per month. At the end of the contract I could then rejoin Sky as a new customer and get their new customer deals.
Sky lost £220 million this year, it surprises me that in such a perilous financial position they make no effort to keep a customer of 16 years, who would sign a new 24 month contract if the price was competitive.
I've no doubt I'm not alone and Sky is going to lose customers and income unless their attitude changes dramatically.

Re: Upgrade from Ultrafast Broadband to Full Fibre
It's a completely baffling business model but one most of the budget ISPs subscribe to. Throw all manor of inducements at new customers to entice them in, then when they get the end of their contract or want to upgrade, attempt to fleece them. I'm only here because BT wanted to up my price at renewal, then charge a fee for telephony that I was already getting for free & then bump that further in March.
Generally speaking, the only way is to play them at their own game & be willing to switch. Taking advantage of cashback sites as well as whatever's on offer. Then at the end of that contract, switch again.

Re: Upgrade from Ultrafast Broadband to Full Fibre
Update on this.
As my wife is a Vodafone customer called into our local store and spoke to a very helpful member of staff. They offered us Full Fibre 500 for £28 per month or Full Fibre for £29 per month. They will guarantee the price for 3 months and give a contribution towards my Sky exit fees.
The parting comment was we are getting loads of customers from Sky.
Sky management get a reality check. You are running a business that has lost £220 million and are losing customers. Why not give competitive deals to your loyal existing customers and stop losing them.
As for myself it looks like after 16 years we will be leaving Sky completely as my TV deal ends in February 2025 and I will not accept the derisory renewal offer made. Given Sky's current woes strange business decision to say goodbye to at least £2500 over 2 years. Also in 2 years time I would seriously have considered upgrading to Sky Stream. Now I would have to rejoin Sky in 2 years, but get the new customer discount. Bizarre way to run a business.
