No internet since yesterday afternoon, not much help when I check the line as it just says there is an outage and we're trying to fix it which isnt much help. I need this as working from home, can you please tell me exactly what the issue is?

You aren’t contacting Sky Customer Services by posting on here. This is primarily a customer to customer forum.
You may need to call Sky and see if they've received an update from Openreach. For your information wfh has no influence on fix times as Sky Broadband is a domestic service.
