Up to date router options for full fibre
Hi everyone. I would love some up to date router options. I've just had full fibre gigabit installed but getting 50mbps on phone and 100mbps on MacBook Pro. And 70mbps on PS5. All on WiFi
struggling with reach upstairs too.
so any help much appreciated.

Re: Up to date router options for full fibre
@savannatim Do you have broadband boost or broadband max as part of your broadband package with Sky?

Re: Up to date router options for full fibre
Yes I've got broadband max and they are sending a booster pod but it's the lack of speed on WiFi that's bothering me.
for reference we have approx 40 devices connected plus an online gaming setup.
Hub is getting 956Mbps but WiFi devices struggling to get above 50.
we had the same problem with Virgin (who we just switched from) and had a TP link router. Unfortunately it's not compatible with sky.

Re: Up to date router options for full fibre
When you have GigaFast Broadband what sort of speeds should one expect on WiFi, if you have a good singal? I know it can vary room by room but what are some others experiences?
Samsung OLED S95B 55", Q930D Q-Series 9.1.4ch Soundbar with Subwoofer and Rear Speakers , Sky Q 1Tb, Gigafast broadband on Sky WiFi Max, PS5 Slim and LOVE building Lego Technic Cars.

Re: Up to date router options for full fibre
@savannatim Are all of those devices connected and using the bandwidth from the router at the same time?

Re: Up to date router options for full fibre
@Highlinder Yes pretty much. Most are low usage like smart switches, but also have several Alexa's, ring doorbell, smart tvs, sky stream, apple boxes, laptops, phones etc.
im not new to broadband and fibre. Or WiFi usage. Just looking. For the best router recommendations. I've seen Asus mentioned a few times.
As an extra. We have 2 x tp link extenders that were used with the old TP link router. I have connected them to the sky hub and both are giving off 120mbps on WiFi. But they are on their own SSID and not working as a mesh system. Mesh is preferred.
thanks ☺️

@savannatim If you do a search of the forum you will find many posts on that very subject of using your own router and the best ways around it.
