Unreliable hub and EV charging issue

My broadband router goes down once or twice a day and has to be powered down and back to restore the service. This started a month or so ago. I have the latest white hub and three wireless boosters, one of which is Ethernet-connected to an home extension. When the hub goes down, it knocks off  my EV charger (Eon Vestel EC04) that does not re establish connection, needing its own reboot. This is obviously an issue if my car isn't charging.

I've had a new router sent and spent a considerable time on the Sky help line. My system performs  very well when it's functioning: up to 600 Mb/s down and 100+ up. When it's down though, no checks work via My Sky. The latest hub fails sometimes whilst still showing a white light - no Ethernet connected outputs or Wi-Fi.

The really odd thing is that when I first plugged in the replacement router, momentarily it showed the SSID from the base before reverting to the former hub's SSID and password. This new router worked like this for a while before becoming unreliable.

During a protracted technical call with Sky, this second router hooked up completely (!) and  I then had to reconnect the first router, that then took the SSID and password of its replacement.

I think what happened is that both routers were taking the latest SSID and password stored in My Sky.

The other complication was that the second router had a different password to that on its base: a lower case i instead of upper case.  Both routers have had the 30+ seconds WPS reset. I'm presently running the first one but going frazzled with this all.

I can call in an engineer but if it's working, I can't see how they will establish the fault. I haven't yet deleted My Sky and reloaded.

Any thoughts out there please?

Re: Unreliable hub and EV charging issue

I've assumed that Sky know which hub I should have and have sent the correct ones but I'll check this. Thanks.

Re: Unreliable hub and EV charging issue

@MickP1 The whole object off the sky Max and the hub, when you get the new one you are correct, it takes all off your settings, applies that to the new replacement hub for the reason to keep your network up and working,,,, Down side is that the label bottom off that sky Max hub becomes defunct as all the settings are for your very first Sky Max Hub....

The problem number 1, the sky Max hub should be staying up connected to the Internet, yes problems do appear from time to time and sky also from Midnight to 7am can run updates or fixes, also OR can be working system wise and all off this can pull the network down...

But in theory once it is all done, the system recovers, the sky Max goes back online same with your 3 pod extenders, and this may or may not be where it is all falling down.... The sky Max and i am going to say this, never used it and never will, it is far to tied to sky Account, you can only manage it with the MySky app, and looking at why/when/what is going on may just be a nightmare, you can confirm that fact or not!

@MickP1 @the Max hub only works reliably with its own matched pod extenders which need to link by WiFi could that be part of the instabilty you seem to be getting?
