Unexplained limited Wifi speed, faulty router?

Hi,

We're on Sky Ultrafast Plus (500Mb) and usually very happy happy with it but seem to have an odd issue that just started today of all days.

Our router suddenly disconnected without reason and restarted at about 1pm. After reconnection our wifi speeds are limited and holding at about 70Mb/s download regardless of device and across both 2.4/5GHz. I've tried a further restart and no change. I've run the Sky Broadband check and that says everything is fine, even the connection to our devices. So why the limit down to around 70Mb?

Could this be a faulty router as we've had it for 2-3 years by now or something else? And where do we stand with Sky for getting an engineer check or replacement router? Obviously, not expecting anything today and we do still at least have internet all be it much slower than usual.

Any advice or suggestions from anyone who has experienced this would be appreciated.

Thanks.
