UK phone connection point on router is smaller than the BT phone connector

Hi I can't connect my landline phone to the back of the router as it is too big. What adapter / connection cable do I need please? I took my query to the local PC store and they haven't seen this before either! Is this an RJ11 or am RJ7 or some other port connection? I am not particularly savvy with this stuff and I am confused! Tia

Oh yea that would probably help! It's the new router with four green lights that sits upright. It says it's an SR203. Does that help? 😊

The UK socket (the middle of the three on the left) is supposed to take a standard 'BT jack' (British Standard 6312 431A plug)

@TimmyBGood can confirm on the 2 SR203 I have used that the centre socket accepts a standard phone plug without issue.

Thank you yes, I realise that but it is too small! They have not supplied a cable or any other adapter or fitting. It's infuriating!

The point of a standard is that it's, well, 'standard'.

Something not fitting suggests a manufacturing or other quality control issue in either socket or jack plug rather than a requirement for an adapter.

@Anonymous you are not trying to use the pink socket by any chance? The correct socket for the phone is the black one to the right which I assure you is for a standard UK phone jack.

Thank you all I think it must be my phone. I'll go buy a new one as there can't be any other reason.
