Turn off wifi on router

I had internet installed today and wish to run ethernet cables and turn off the wifi at the router. I dont own a smart phone, so i cant download the sky app. Is there another way to do this?

@Emma368

I was in the same situation (older model phone) but managed to get the Mysky app on my PC. I used an emulator app called Bluestacks 5 which you can sideload Mysky onto.

@Emma368
You can turn WiFi off in the web interface. Enter https://myrouter.io/ into a browser & log on with username: admin & the WiFi password.

Then go to Connection > WiFi > Edit, toggle off & save at the bottom of the page. You'll need to do both bands.

No idea if the daft forum censorship will allow this screenshot:

Re: Turn off wifi on router

Re: Turn off wifi on router

No idea why the link wouldn't work but try 192.168.0.1 instead.

The censorship of images is ludicrous.

@Emma368

If you have already got Bluestacks downloaded open it and click on the house icon at top to get to home page (you might already be there)

  • Click on System Apps
  •
  • Open Play Store
  •
  • Click search and type Mysky and it should give you the option to download the Mysky app (as you would normally do on a phone)

@Emma368 what colour hub do you have? If its the white one you will have to use the My Sky app unfortunstely and you sign in with the Sky id linked to thecaccount.

The older black hubs you dont use thecapp instead use the web interface by just typing 192.168.0.1 into a browser. The sign-in to access the wifi pages is different the username is always admin and the password is the wifi password on the hub's label. Some browser give a security warning because the interface does not use the https protection. This is an internal web page not accessible from the internet so is safe to over ridectge warning..

@Emma368

If you have password issues with a browser, try a factory reset of the hub. I've seen several similar reports but due to the nature of this forum, never seen a resolution.

Although the screenshot was censored, I can confirm that you can switch off the WiFi on the whote SR213 Hub from a browser. Let's see if this cropped version will pass.

@Emma368  for the Web interface login are you using the correct credentials ?

Should be:

Username : admin

P/w :  your router network password (on the White card that came with your router)
