Trying to contact a human being at Sky to cancel broadband

I am finding it impossible to speak to a human being to discuss cancelling my broadband contract which expires on 3rd September, or to discuss reducing my Skt TV costs. Is there such a thing a a retention department? If so does anyone have a contact number the will actually work?

Thanks.

@perfectpitch   You can call on 150 from a Sky Talk Line or Sky Mobile.

If you haven't got a current Sky Mobile or Sky Talk this link should help:
(UK) https://www.sky.com/help/home Scroll down and click on ‘Need more help’ and it provides a 0333 number
(ROI) on the same link change the flag in the very bottom corner to the ROI flag to obtain an 0818 number.

Stay on the line and don’t hang up if prompted to. Apparently the quieter times to ring are just after 7am or about 9pm.

@perfectpitch
Sky Broadband and Sky Talk
~ To cancel totally, or if you were to move to a provider like Virgin Media who don’t use the Openreach set up, you'll have to contact Sky and give the required notice of 14 days, but if you are still in the initial 18 months deal Sky could impose cancellation charges. This link may help https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-broadband
If you are changing to another provider who also uses the Openreach infrastructure then join up with them and they should contact Sky on your behalf.
You’ll need to return any loaned router to Sky, so it’s important you get proof of posting and keep it indefinitely. Return packaging will be sent out to you near the end of the notice period.

@perfectpitch

Could also try using the Sky Help via Facebook, I'm using it right now and have been diverted to texting them as I'm looking to remove a product. It works well and I used the same system earlier in the year when negotiating new rates for Sky Q
