Transition from BT/EE to SKY

Am I making a wise choice?  I am not happy with BT's intended plans to install fibre optic and digital voice in my house.   Is it my understanding that If I sign up with SKY for TV and broadband, all it will involve is having a satelllite dish installed.  Maybe the other option is have the broadband and Sky TV that requires no satellite.  I am 83 and would rather ask you than be pressurised by a Sales Team.

Unfortunately that's entirely incorrect: Sky Broadband is not delivered over a satellite dish.  It would arrive over a new optical fibre with a digital voice service in just the same way as BT Broadband will because that's the technology which the entire national telecoms network is moving to: using electrical signalling over copper 'phone' pairs is an Victorian/Edwardian concept which really needs to go away

Internet by satellite is a thing (Starlink being the most well known provider these days) but Sky has never been a satellite ISP.
