It would be easier just to stick the to the Asus branded routers and seperate VDSL modem. At least with Asus you can install 3rd party firmware, Merlin, which allows you to input crendentials. I would aim at least to go with something that is supported by him since he has dropped a few models based on age and Asus releasing GPL code for those models.

Understand.... Though the router I already have is the Rax50 (WiFi 6).
As noted, all appears to be working with the connection authenticated via DHCPv6 per the expectation now in this thread. Per Netgear's documentation, don't think this router has the Option 61 authentication via IPV4 as alternative. So the 'only' issue is that IPv6 seems to drop for some reason (which seems to stop repeat authentication as well as fundamentally breaking IPv6 from the router).
Trying to determine if that's a router configuration setup issue (which I could adjust/fix), a router bug (in which case Netgear should fix... Or I need a different t router) or a Sky IPv6 issue.

FYI, seems from common problems, Netgear essentially has a buggy implementation of ipv6.
The Internet seemed to stay connected despite this after initial issues, but loss of IPV6 persisted.
So replaced the RAX50 with an Asus RT-AX82U. Which is cheaper, has far better/more updated, more customisable factory firmware and user interface and, in the latest firmware updates, supports Option 61 (no IPv6 issues either, so that authentication method also working).

Can anyone please shed some light on how or if I can make this TP-Link Deco my router for Sky FTTP? Recent connection with Hauwei ONT...

This would be the procedure for authenticating thru dhcpv6 prefix delegation if it is available
Select the WAN interface section of router GUI, then select dual-stack option WAN interface for IPv4 & IPv6, for the address select DHCPv6 (dynamic option not static), enable prefix delegation (PD) on WAN and then select SLACC for IPv6 creation method on LAN interface

@cookiemonsteruk - I have done you a screen recording as I am unsure that I have the options that you are advising me to use?
Thank you for your assistance.

@jackojnr Wouldn't it be easier to use a web browser on a laptop, surely? 😌
01 Jul 2021 08:21 AM
@MUFFINTAST1C it would IF TP-Link had given the desktop portal the same advanced connection options yes...🤣
Thus why I have shared the options from the native app...
Did you have any suggestions or solutions to resolve it?

Hi
Thanks for this. I followed what you did and now have a connected status and WAN IP address. All seems fine other than ASUS wan LED is still red rather than turning white. Anything to be worried about?

Scrap that, rebooted router and LED now white. Thanks again for the tips folks.

I use a Linksys Velop Tri-band router and mesh system to deliver gigabit FTTP (provided by Gigaclear) around my house via Cat6, into which my SkyQ 2TB V3 UHD box and two Minis are hardwired.
Everything works at default settings, albeit with SkyQ wi-fi turned off in the hidden menu, but I do get video glitches (pixelation) and audio dropouts in recordings and live viewing on the Minis, even after the Q160 software update, most of which disappear on rewind. Q160 has also introduced a spate of pixelation glitches which are embedded on the hard drive and reproducible on the main box as well.
My question is: do I need to tweak my Linksys router settings to optimise data distribution over the LAN? I appreciate that the new issue of embedded glitches may be a sparate problem, possibly related to my dish, satellite cable (20 years old) or even the two Minis which are over a year old - although a Sky engineer visit a couple of months ago found no issues.

If it is a live feed from the Sky Q dish that you are experiencing pixitalation and sound issues then it is likely the satellite dish that needs looking at not the wired connection to Sky Q boxes or anything to do with your internal LAN network or router.
