The Number of Current Sky Broadband Outages?

I’m really not one for conspiracies, but is there a higher number than average of Sky broadband service ‘outages’ currently being experienced and reported in this community?

I’m now into week 3 of my Sky broadband 'outage' and I’m just starting to get a tiny bit suspicious that all is not what its purporting to be by Sky Tech Support and the numerus Sky service checking apps.

I appreciate that Sky is at the complete mercy of Openreach, but I would have thought that even Openreach could have completed a reasonably sized and complex repair by now – unless they’re on a union walkout, or something has really gone bang in a far bigger way than they are prepared to publicly disclose?

In all the years I’ve been with Sky – even in the bad old ADSL and FTTC days, has my broadband service been down for this length of time. This really is unprecedented.

@THX1138 Apart from the two stupid numbers, and the 5Ghz not showing data as usual then look at the uptime and FF500.

FF500 on Sky SR203 at 6.45am wi-fi today 12/5/25FF500 on Sky SR203 at 6.45am wi-fi today 12/5/25

oops 5Ghz bandoops 5Ghz bandNo idea why wanoe droppedNo idea why wanoe dropped

And unfortunate did not catch the log file in time to see if it showed. If it was so up and down, wife would be all over my "!"£" for sure.

No, I wouldn't say so.  What there perhaps might be is a general trend towards a lengthier wait for complex repairs (and  particularly to the legacy copper network) which one could suspect is related to Openreach concentrating resources on the national FTTP rollout to hit the December 2026 target date (and, allegedly, losing rather a large number of its veteran field personnel in the process ; )

@THX1138 And also to add to @TimmyBGood statement with everyone and there granny able to mess and add to the OR infrastructure ie stuffing there ducts with additional Fibre all of this does not help, although they try to be carefull it just may not work, a lot easier to find and fix a cable fault, than to find out what is going wrong with a laser light and the disturbance off both systems.
