Terrible broadband speeds on full fibre

I've had Sky's full fibre 150 for around a month now and the speeds I'm getting are way below what I expected. However today is a new low, I'm trying to work and it's barely functioning at all.

I'm currently getting 2 mbps download and 7 mobs upload with 14ms ping.

im struggling to work or do anything with this speed. My old non fibre broadband was way faster than this. Can someone please look into this urgently or confirm if there's a problem in the area. Thank you

@Nic124 check the speed to the hub bybwifi running the service checker in the My Sky app if thst is running normally as is likely then your issue is probably poor wifi in your home. Poor WiFi coverage is probably the most common question we get in the forum. In many homes a single Sky hub cannot provide a usable wifi signal in every room due to the layout and type of construction of the property especially in older homes. Assuming the hub is in the best possible position which is out in the open on a surfsce then the only answer is additional wifi sources.

Your choice.is to either buy Sky's add-on WiFi Max bundle which can supply up to 3 extenders see https://www.sky.com/help/articles/sky-wifi-max or buy your own wifi system and use that instead of the Sky hub's WiFi.

Re: Terrible broadband speeds on full fibre

Hi, thanks for the quick reply, the Sky app doesn't seem to be working so I did a general online speed test from my phone.

I am getting better speeds near the hub (but still not great for what I'm paying for at 30mbps rather than the expected 120mbps plus I'd expect.

I think I need to get in touch with Sky about the low speed and maybe WiFi extenders as I was told I could get them if needed.

@Nic124

Sky loans wireless booster hardware free under the terms of the 'WiFi Guarantee' element of the legacy 'Broadband Boost' add-on and the 'Enhanced Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' part of the 'WiFi Max' subscription supplement: they don't otherwise provide or sell boosters except to resolve issues with Sky Q. Phoning Sky to go through a telephone diagnosis is required to have a booster or pod allocated to the account. Inevitably some  Sky booster hardware has leaked onto a certain auction site and elsewhere online, but Sky won't offer support with using these.

Confusingly the default 'Wall to Wall WiFi Guarantee' bundled with all new Sky Broadband orders where Boost or Max is not added by the customer doesn't actually provide booster hardware, and is essentially a sales lead generator for the supplements mentioned above plus a one month broadband subscription refund.
