Telephone signal sometimes cuts off or does not connect caller

We have Sky broadband via cable. Openreach installed the internal connecting box in our house which the modem and our landline telephone connects to. Sometimes a call gets cut off or does not connect at all. Will an ADSL filter help this please? Any advice gratefully received.

@Elm4 if the Openreach master socket has two outlets one for the Sky hub and one for the phone you do not need line filters as the socket has those built-in. If it has one outlet and you are using an adapter to connect the devices the phone will need a filter but normally its the briadband that drops in those cases. I would call Sky by dialling 150 on the Skytalk line and report the fault.
