TV Netflix keps spooling; new to Sky broadband. TV worked fine with Virgin Media.

I've just joined Sky broadband, on 29th July with an average speed of 109mbs (which should be plenty) and since then the TV has twice said there's no internet connection, when there is and Netflix keeps spooling making it close to unwatchable.  The TV is about 5 metres away from the SKY router, separated by a stud wall but I can't move it closer. The Virgin Media riuter used to be right next to the TV.  Any ideas?  Is it too late to get out of my Sky contract and go back to Virgin?
