Switching from BT to sky broadband today, have read that it is easier to change/replace sky SSID with existing BT SSID rather than change numerous device id's? Is this possible/easy to do and how you doing it please, have read a few write ups but sure if it's doable

@mrjohnny9 in the My Sky app click on Broadband, scroll down yo Product Options, click on Sky Max hub on the page that appearsclick on the pencil icon which should allow you to edit both the SSID and the WiFi password to match your old router. Once the change is saved and hub has restarted your devices should connect without further action although a few may require a re-start.

@mrjohnny9 Did Sky give you a black or white router for your service?

Re: Switching from BT to sky broadband today,
@mrjohnny9 With the white router that would be done via the Sky app to make changes, but with the black router it is done via router management. Once you know what router you have come back let us know.

Re: Switching from BT to sky broadband today,
@mrjohnny9 if you get a white hub which is likely if buying full fibre you can indeed edit the SSID and WiFi password using the My Sky app navigate to the Sky Max settings area and use the pencil icon to open the edit field. If you have a black hub you can edit the WiFi details in the hub's web interface by typing 192.168.0.1 and clicking on the WiFi tab and logging in with the username admin and the WiFi password on the hubs label.
It is a sensible step to save efort my own WiFi log in is from a router which has been history for several years.

Re: Switching from BT to sky broadband today,
@Chrisee hi, just to update you, all working now thx, SSID changed+ password, existing devices automatically reconnected, seems there is a few hours delay for the hub settings to appear in the sky app, thanks for your input
