Switched to Sky from BT today. Broadband speed to hub is half what was promised.
I switched to Sky from BT today and received a text advising that my Sky Broadband is now active.
According to the service checker on the Sky website, the broadband speed to the Sky hub is only 31mb which is half of what was promised under the speed guarantee. When I was on BT the speed was at least 60mb.
Is this normal when switching from from Sky to BT and should I expect the speed to improve later today? Having checked my old BT account, it is still showing as active, so could that be causing a problem?

What colour sky hub do you have ?
If black could you post your router stats

That is 79 Mbps .the fastest speed on part fibre fttc
How are you measuring the speed ie a 3rd party app
What devices are affected and are they connected via wifi or ethernet

Re: Switched to Sky from BT today. Broadband speed to hub is half what was promised.
Hello,
I am using the Service Checker on the Sky Website (https://www.sky.com/servicechecker)
I have wired my computer to the router and just tested again and its still reporting half normal speed:
And also in OOKLA speed test:
The only other item currently using data is my Sky Stream puck.

I would rely on the actual statistics at 79Mbps as that is the true line synch
Also the ethernet lan shows collision packets which are packets sent from router to device and returned again until tey are successfully received. Collisions can reduce the speed as seen by 3rd party test sites
Re the collision is the router directly connected to the computer or via an ethernet switch
