Switched to Sky - No Sky Max Hub

Made the mistake of switching to Sky broadband on 23/03. Open reach installed the Fibre on 02/04 and all seemed to go to plan. Was then given an activation date of 07/05 and Sky arranged for previous broadband with Virgin to disconnect on 07/05 also. Its now 15/05 and I have had no broadband for over a week because Sky are unable to dispatch the Sky Max Hub due to an IT system fault. They also started charging me for broadband from 14/04! 

 

I've now had around 10 different phone calls with various Sky representatives all of which can do nothing, I've just had an engineer attend that they booked to see whether he can do anything. He just said that although he has Sky Hubs in his van, he is not allowed to install one. The situation seems absolutely ridiculous. I just get a text every couple of days to say Sky need more time to resolve my IT case. Can it really be this difficult to get hold of a Sky Hub?

 

if anyone can offer any advice or has experienced anything similiar please let me know

@Lees19 It will be all to do with the Sky Max hub that you are getting, and attached to the account to work correctly, had it been the older SR203 you may not have a least had the hub issue, Sky wll certainly sort out the payment side, it's just a real shame that someone jumped the gun and set it all as active changeover done and dusted and had VM switch off your service!
