Switched from BT to SKY and VPN won't connect

I'm hoping someone can help me as I've not been able to connect to VPN since I joined SKY in June 2024. My Remote Desktop connection doesn't work without the VPN connection first (I am not Techie in any way!)

 

So far I have:

  • Turned off the Broadband Shield,
  • Set the WIFI Security Level to WPA2, WPA3, and back again multiple times
  • Turned off the SKY Q Box,
  • Talked to the IT department at work who spent hours looking for the problem and say it's the Router blocking the VPN
  • Called SKY multiple times - keep getting told I can have a new router but it's not been "approved" ?? They promise to call me back but never do.
  • Been told by SKY to plug my old BT router back in!! (would if it still worked but it doesn't)
  • Changed DNS Settings (Auto / Google 8888 / Auto etc)
  • Checked Hyper-V is off
  • Re-started my laptop a million times

I am at my wits end, I cannot work without it - PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP 🙏
