Thinking of upgrading from Superfast to Ultrafast BB.
Will the router be changed ?, I prefer to keep my existing router as a lot of hassle updating internet driven stuff to a new code etc.
Thanks

If you have the router i posted a picture of then no, as i am in the same boat i have order in progress to get ultra fast installed to my house, the engineer connects the new full fiber internet to port 4 on the back of this router, you shouldent lose your settings i do not think.

Find out more@Tomcat59 if you currently have a flat Sky Q hub then you wil be sent new SR203 or SR204 router however you can avoid going through the rigmarole of relogging all of your devices if you change the new hub to use the SSID and password of your current hub..
When the new hub arrives unplug your old router and connect the new one to your existing service it should work. Just connect a single device initially ideally use a laptop with an ethernet port. Using a browser navigate to 192.168.0.1, when the interace loads click on the. Wifi tab you will be asked to log in use admin as the user and the wifi code printed on the label as password then simply edit the SSID and password to match your exisisting kit and click Apply the hub will restart and your wifi devices should connect without any issues.
Being incredibly lazy I do this as a routine with new routers. Couple of things to note if you use a device connected by wifi to make the changes remember that device will lose connection until it logs back onto the "old"network. Devices that run ios like iPhones have issues accessing and changing the settings on Sky hubs. The admin password for the new hub will stay fixed to the default wifi code on the label that can be changed but it is a different field.
If you have a Sky Q hub the switch to Ultrafast will involve an engineer's visit either to fit a fibre ONT unit or a new master socket if the Ultrafastservice your are getting uses G.Fast over copper.
