Hi, as stated in a previous post I have replaced my sky hub with a TP link modem router.
I have now set up a mesh network but chose a different SSID. However, the old SSIDs still show up when I search my networks. Can I name my mesh network with the original network SSID? and If so will all devices still access via the mesh network.
At present only one of my security cameras are on the mesh.
I didn't realise that the original modem router would still be transmitting when the master mesh device was attached via ethernet as all the monem lights are now off

That may work using DHCPv6 PD but I don't think the m5 deco has the correct DHCPv6 PD implementation on it for working with Sky. So, believe you are going to have to keep that tp-link router for connecting to Sky.

You can set up the wireless mesh with identical SSID and security credentials as previously on a retired wireless system. When doing this it is best to switch everything off and then back on once the change of SSID has occurred on all systems.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIf you have Sky Q then its likely your old SSID is being transmitted from the Q boxes

Should I have disabled wifi on the main router when setting up the mesh. If so I assume I'd only see the mesh main and guest networks listed on my devices

If the main router is not part of the wireless mesh system then one should disable the wireless on it.

Thanks. I'm in two minds whether to just use the m5 deco as my router and bin the tp link modem router to keep it simple and loose some cabling

VP6 is to do with a lossy video codec not IPv6 addresses for DHCPv6 PD authentication on the WAN with Sky internet.
