@Susieq0701 you have posted this issue in multiple threads try rebooting your hub which usually works.

I've attempted to spilt 2g & 5g 5x now, everything goes well right up to the point that I click apply after unsyncronising them as soon as I do that I lose network connection

@BeSpOHow are you connected when you are trying to do all of this? Are you wired or wireless?

I'm on wireless. I guess I'm going to try and find a cable to plug into my laptop and try again

I had exactly the same issue. 4 weeks later and i have just managed to resolve it (with a very helpful Grant Lavelle from Hive/British Gas).

 

if you are using a Safari product (ie an iphone/ipad etc), it will kick you off the router before any changes are implemented.

 

Use an Android device

 

Untick the 'Sync 2.4 and 5.0' box

 

Rename the 2.4 network (no need to change the password)

 

Save changes

 

Reboot the router AND the Hive hub

 

Reconnect using the normal process

I don't have a laptop or an Ethernet cable, only apple products, is there any way I can do this split????

Having spent the best part of a month going from one phone call to another....unfortunately it would appear not.  I used my son's Amazon Fire tablet to do the split.  I had my neighbour's Samsung phone as a backup in case the Amazon Fire didn't work.  Is there someone who has an android phone you could borrow for you to do the split?

@greenfam using Chrome in place of Safari as the browser on an ios device normally works.

@Chrisee Chrome was doing the same thing unfortunately. Managed to get my neighbourly to rescue me with their laptop so smart plug is now connected, yay!
