Speed not recovered after router bug drops line profile

A few weeks ago a Sky bug was causing routers to reboot frequently, this was resolved but not before DLM dropped my line profile speed. Before the issue I had 54/20, now I have 49/15.

The line did resync a few days ago, but all it did was raise my downstream from 48997 to 49000 (3 bits persecond!). My noise margins are currently 6.8 down, 6.2 up. Prior to this they were 5.8/4.3, which is below 6 but were still very stable.

I'm quite disappointed to lose that speed given my line was very stable before the Sky issue. Losing 25% of my upsteam speed hurts the most.

Live chat wanted me to offer me a new router or an engineer visit, when all I want is a profile change to return my speeds to what they were. FTTP is available but I'm not quite ready to order it.

So do I just have the accept the new speeds until I order FTTP?

@hgwv That's about the jist off it, unless you can get sky to have an OR Engineer go do a DSLAM reset on your green cabinet for your line, it's a just keep the hub on and hope that it climbs back up!

Sorry did not see that you had FTTP available, you are wrong not to go for it if you can unless you have something specific that is holding you back, trust me you will not look back, just stay away from sky Max at present and keep your Sky Broadband Hub if that is what you have!

@hgwv

Profiles can not be adjusted. The most that can be done is a DLM reset however Openreach will only carry this out after an onsite engineer visit. If the router is kept stable e.g. no disconnections your speed should slowly climb back up after around 2 weeks.

@JimM1 yes, I just have to consider where I want to site the new FTTP socket in the house, plus there will be digging...

@jamesn123 the minor line speed change which triggered around 2am a few days ago felt like the start of the line training process. Unfortunately it appears it was both the first and last day of DLM line training, since it only disconnected one time around 2am and not on subsequent days.
