Slow wifi/no connection in some rooms

So we had our wifi fitted around a month ago and had problems setting it up, so an engineer came out and fixed the problem. We have a pretty good broadband that is supposed to be very good for big households with lots of rooms. However, ever since then the wifi is extremely slow and doesn't reach some rooms even though we live in a small flat. I've tried all the online steps and don't know where to go from here. Any help is appreciated.

That's certainly what the advertising copywriters would like everyone to believe: the real world, and particularly WiFi, is frequently very different.

@kendal1

Do you have a black or a white Sky Hub?

Re: Slow wifi/no connection in some rooms

@kendal1 What service do you have from sky, and where currently is that hub sitting in the home!

First, let's position your new hub

Where you put your hub can really affect your WiFi signal. For the clearest signal:

  • Keep it out in the open - not in a cabinet, on the floor or stuck behind the TV. About 30cm of space is best.
  • Keep it away from wireless devices like cordless phones.
  • Try to put it where you use the internet most. Your signal is stronger near your hub.
