My sons xbox upstairs is getting only 20mbs. Our devices keep dropping connection to the Internet.

WiFi. Bought a netgear booster yesterday and it knocked all devices off the Internet. Have relocated router but not getting much better. Guaranteed 500mb but don't get anywhere near.
