Slow internet connection in one bedroom

My son has been complaining for a while of his computer lagging when he's online. This happens often. I don't know if the internet connection in his room would be any slower than the rest of the house. Is there any way this can be resolved? Thanks

@Amyh1984 if he is gaming the latency (lag) is probably down to a poor wifi signal and the effect of interference  which means data packets get lost and have to be resent. Ideally you would run an ethernet cable tomhiscroom. However failing that a powerline networking kit might help ,as thst uses your home's mains wiring rather than wifi which is never recommended for gaming.
