Slow download speeds everywhere apart from right next to router

I recently went fin normal broadband to fibre with 400mb guaranteed. It does achieve this if I stand right next to the router but it drops off severely anywhere else. 6m away in next room it's 300, even with door open, on the other direction, as bad as 60. It's the sr302 router, a few years old. It may have done similar drop off before fibre but the slower expected speeds made it less noticeable. The router is where engineer placed it which is in corner of the house but it's on top of a medium height shelf with no other devices close. Feels like not even an extender would do the job of getting it to a useable 3-400mb download speeds through the house as close rooms are doing well off. Any suggestion?

60mbps isnt 'bad' its perfectly usable and enough bandwidth for almost any domestic task. Is there a reason you need more than this over WiFi?

I would note that Sky's nor any ISPs FTTP products do not guarantee you will get 100s of Mbps over WiFi because its not possible to make that promise when you take into account every unique setup in peoples homes. Sky's 'Max' addon will provide you with boosters if you dont get 25mbps in each room but anything above that Sky wont be interested in helping because there is no fault with your service.
