Sky wifi max issue connecting to old laptop

I have went through all the threads on Google and here to tried splitting  between 2.4ghz and 5ghz .I have tried disabling 5ghz and also have tried moving the security down to wp2 but still I don't see the new sky wifi at all .I am totally out of options and don't see the point paying extra when I can't use it .can anyone please help?thanks

@Ajita if other devices in the same area as the laptop can connect it impliesxan issuecwith thecwifi card. New WiFi uSB dongles can be bought for under £15 so buying one of those is likely to be  tge best solution.

@Chrisee Think could be an issue with the drivers but not an expert in reinstalling them,your suggestion might be the best thanks
