Hi,I've been with sky for just over a month now..enjoying the experience but now and again the Internet will drop off (even when close to the router)..I have looked at the router statistics but don't fully understand them, I was wondering if someone could check these please and let me know if they seem OK??
Many thanks

The speed received by the router is at almost 63Mbps downstream and 20Mbps, and you are experiencing line drops the last one about twelve hours ago. The downstream speed seems slightly low considering the cabinet is close by at 200 metres and I'd expect it to achieve the low 70Mbps to 80Mbps downstream.
What is the guaranteed minimum speed that Sky advised you about when taking out the broadband contract? If you are below this recommend you contact Sky to book an engineer visit.

The minimum speed for the superfamily contract is 59Mb/s so I think that's close..was trying to figure out the LAN down bit, wasn't sure if that was of concern??

Do you have something connected to the LAN port on the router and are the devices that are connected by a LAN ethernet cable switched on if so that information should be reflected on the router live.
If an ethernet connected device is on and connected by cable, and it's still showing the LAN as down then check cables, etc...

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@dmj1972Is that the minimum speed that is stated as your minimum when you run the broadband test?

That's the rear of the router, presume there's nothing in the LAN?

This was a test through the my sky app

Just waiting for the photo to be approved by the powers that be, and I'll comment accordingly once seen. The reason the community is querying the MGS at 59Mbps is that sounds like an average, and the speed downstream does seem very low for distance to the cabinet.

The weather wasn't great this morning, plenty of rain..read somewhere that can effect the Internet??

Overhead cables can be impacted by wind and rain but the cables are insulated against rain, so really you shouldn't get an issue and if you do and it is excessive then it should be reported as a fault.

The reason the LAN is showing down is there are no ethernet devices connected by cable to the router which is shown in the picture, eg: you exclusively use wireless as a means of accessing the internet. So, everything reported in the user interface for the LAN is correct.
Keep an eye on the reliability of the connection, if you experience excessive disconnections exceeding 10 a day then report a fault to Sky.

Probably sounds daft but is there any proper way of monitoring the Internet then for if the signal does go off or I can only tell when using devices in the house??

When looking at the router interface there is a support recent activity log which will show every time the WAN goes down and the time it did so, but on restarting the router or a power-off you lose the log. It's under the tab Support in router interface.

I will have a look for that now and monitor it.
Thank you ever so much for your help this evening!!

My apologies, promise last question, just looking at that log,is there a particular code or line which indicates the Internet went off??
