Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@M4Q @you will have 2 competing 5GHz mesh networks as the Q minis will stil use the Sky Q mesh signal either from the Sky hub or the main Q box. The only way round that is to diasbale the Q box's WiFi and use Ethernet.

WiFi from all my Q boxes has been disabled and the Q hub has had the wifi turned off and SSID is no longer broadcasting. Been running like this without any issues for a couple of months now.

@M4QI'd love to understand how you fix the issue!
I'm still having issues with Double NAT with Plex because of Sky.
I was about to change ISP, but, for some reason my house can receive fiber only from Sky. I have to wait that they add some additional fiber connexion before I'm able to use another ISP provider.
Let me know

@M4Q Hi, just wondering about your solution to make the eero s work. Currently on. Virgin and assumed the sky router would also be easily moved to Bridge mode, but sounds like there are issues putting in bridge mode- just wondering whether I should stay with virgin after all and cancel the move as the eero's are key to my network. If any solution, would be great, thank. C

Hi@Collyman I would firstly say that there are members of this community that are far more knowledgable than me with the equipment and systems but I can advise you based on what i have managed and done with the setup.
Firstly you can not put the sky hub into bridge mode, its not an option so thats something to tick off the list. I have gotten the system to work for my by adding the gateway eero to the DMZ within the hub settings. i have also turned off the wifi from my hub, main sky Q and all the mini sky Q boxes. wierdly this is still visable with a scanner but i just dont have anything connected to it. All my sky boxes are connected to the eero nodes via ethernet and the tv system all works together as well as it before. Personally i would be tempted to stay with the virgin broadband, especially if its something youve been happy with up until now. Its my intention to find a different provider once im out of contract, hopefully one that will allow me to use my own equipment or at least have equipment that has a bridge/modem mode.
hope this helps

Thanks @M4Q, appreciate fast response. Already ordered sky package including broadband so will see how it goes but definitely use same approach and turn off all WiFi settings on the sky equipment.. presume they are within the engineer settings ? Not sure about the DMZ approach but will look into and see if I can get it to work.. fingers crossed with installation next week !!! Should have checked out the Eero integration first .. but c'est la vie... Tks again

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Collyman the advice @M4Q gave is accurate there is no bridge mode on any Sky hub and using third party mesh wifi systems is further complicated by the fact Sky use a non standard authentication system on their Sky Superfast product which prevents these systems connecting when using a separate dsl modem. This does not apply if you are getting the full fibre to the premises product.
The DMZ option bye passes the Hub's firewall which solves some issues but you still have a double. NAT which prevents some services offered by mesh systems from operating such as parental controls etc and some apps on devices like some gaming features and some business apps.
If you are getting Sky's Q tv system as part of the swap from Virgin you need to be aware that the Q mini units can only connect to the Sky wifi mesh and cannot use a third party wifi. If you disable the Hub's wifi the main Q.box can connect to your own wifi but will still generate a wifi hot spot for any Minis. Given the Sky Q system is a mesh system by default with the TV boxes operating as wifi hotspots you msy find that proides a suitable network on its own. Running two mesh wifi networks in close proximity often causes interference issues. You can completely disable the Q wifi and connect the boxes using their ethernet ports.

Hi @M4Q,
sorry if I sound a bit dumb but, after adding the gateway eero to the DMZ did you configue your eero to have a static ip ?
Thanks

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@kirenv if the eero is the only device connected to the Sky hub it really doesnt matter if it uses a static IP or not.

@Chrisee thank you
15 Dec 2020 12:27 PM
It will matter if you are using the DMZ option as you need a consitent IP address to assign the DMZ to.

Sorry for the delayed response, for some reason my notifications all arrived at once...
As @Chrisee stated (and as is the case for me) the Eero gateway is the only thing connected to me router so i have not set any static IP on the Eero for this. If you have multiple connections to the router than whlie this may not be essential it may be a good idea to do so

I'm having this double NAT issue as well. I have only 1 Sky Q box and do not have a multiroom setup. I've always had Google WiFi for my network. Now I'm having major issues connecting to WiFi. I contacted Google support who advised this:

How do I sort this please? Thanks.

Hi @M4Q , I also have eero pro network and eero advised me to put my router into bridge mode to assist with a smart alarm system error. Obviously as you know sly don't offer bridge mode so was wondering if you could advise your work around.
eero said I could put eero into bridge mode but would lose out on some features... now for such an expensive system, whether I make use of those Unknown features or not is out of the question 🙂
