Sky reminding me I haven’t returned router still in use

Sky have just sent a text to remind me to return my old router that is still in use.

I am upgrading to full fibre which should have been installed 9/7, but Openreach have still to run the external cabling (internal done). I've got a new router that I received 5/7, but currently can't install as I'm still on Ultrafast (which doesn't work correctly anyway as only get 30-50mbps download speed, hence why I'm upgrading as they mis sold it to me).

 

Shouldnt they know this and not be chasing me for the return? Plus, I thought I had 60 days to return anyway? I don't want to phone as I'll just get passed around for an hour or more!

Was you sent the router as part of your fibre upgrade or via the replacement router program for those that will not be receiving updates come December ?

Hi,

 

the replacement router was sent for the full fibre upgrade, although it looks identical to the one I've got the model numbers are different. I've got a 204 and they've sent a 203

You should be able to start using that now if you want. Unless you login to it and change your Sky network name and password you will have to reset up your wireless devices.

@Ldd012 Are you currently on a G.Fast service up to 150Mb/s, if so keep your SR204 working on it, the 203 is not suitable if you run into any issues with the connection side off things, this is a just incase you come accross connection issues!

 

If OR stuffed up the connection SR203 should work just fine!
