Sky q main box and sky q mini box connecting to sky max pod

Does anybody else have this issue?

My main box and mini box keep connecting to the pod instead of the sky max hub. The boxes are closer to the hub.

As soon as they connect to the pod, the speed on the sky q boxes drop to around 10mbs.

I can reset the network so they connect back to the hub and get speeds of around 50mbs but after a few hours they connect back to the pod and the speed drops.

There is no other speed issue with any other devices except the sky q boxes.

How are you connecting them initially?

With Max only the main Q box should link with the Hub: the Mini needs to WPS from the main Q box.

Connected the main box to the hub and the mini via wps to the main box.

Exactly as you said

Did you previously have a Sky Q or Sky Broadband Hub, and any Q or Broadband boosters?

Re: Sky q main box and sky q mini box connecting to sky max pod

I had the sr203 router and two sky boosters. I sent them all back and now they will not downgrade me. I have had two engineers out and they cannot sort it out. The only suggestion i had from someone on the phone was to cancel.

Moved the pod further away from the boxes but they still connect to them

Yes: poor Sky Q performance (particularly when it previously needed boosters) is an unfortunate potential side-effect of moving to Max which Sky don't seem to be particularly bothered about under Comcast ownership.

One possible workaround, although this is just a theory, might be to source your own Q booster and attach that over ethernet cable.
