Sky not offering me Full Fibre, despite Open reach telling me it is available

I've recently moved house and hastily ordered Sky broadband as we already had a Sky Stream contract, however it has been very slow so I checked on Openreach's website and they are showing that full fibre is available at my address and that Sky is a provider that can offer Full Fibre broadband.

So why is it that the best broadband Sky are able to provide me caps out at a guaranteed 15 mbp/s, it's astonishingly slow and as we are a household that has Sky Stream it is even making watching TV difficult because the audio and visuals will freeze regularly, I spoke with a member of customer service who informed me that Sky Stream requires a steady connection of 21 mbp/s or else stuttering is likely. So they're currently not even providing me with good enough broadband to operate one of the other services I pay them for.

Why won't they give me the option to upgrade to full fibre? Or at the very least offer to do something to improve my broadband to the point where my Sky Stream has a stable connection seeing as I'm paying for that too.

When FTTP was first available on my estate (4 years ago) Sky was only offering speeds up to 500 when other ISPs were offering 900. For some other reason Sky could not offer my home any FTTP whereas neighbours either side of me could get it.

Never found out why, but went with a very  small ISP and haven't regretted my decision. Sky Stream is buffer free and great picture quality in a  streaming constantly household.

After about 12 months Sky offered 900. FTTP and also included my home... too late for me.

I suppose you will just have to wait till Sky come around to offering FTTP as you are in a contract now which is potentially expensive to exit.

I would have suggested using another ISP offering FTTP until Sky offer it. Some ISPs offer 1 month contracts which though pricey leave you free to change at short notice.
