Sky max pod won’t connect but sky extender box does

Hi I previously had a broadband sky extender box put in with my modem by engineer as I live in a long house. I have upgraded to sky max and been s nt a hub and a pod. The hub has connected ok but the pod won't. If I move the pod close to the hub won't it limit how far it can send signal. I have now reconnected the extender bc from previous set up and all is working. However do I need to use the max pod to gain benefits of max

It would be recommended to use the pod as it will work best with max. The idea is to place the pod in a central position between the area that needs coverage but also in a good signal area from your hub so the booster itself can get a good connection. You may need to daisy chain more than one pod to reach all areas.
