Sky max hub SR213 (the white one)
If you are thinking of going for this hub SR213)think carefully if you have any 2.4ghtz wifi devices. You will need to disable the 5ghtz band via the My Sky app. The rub with this is that in doing this all devices on this band are also disabled so after connecting the 2.4ghtz devices you can't use a device that is connected to the 5ghtz. The work around is to use mobile phone data to switch the 5ghtz band back on.
MESSAGE TO SKY DEVELOPMENT Please resolve this issue so the two bands can be permanently split and show up on setting devices up. This will make it much more user friendly.

Re: Sky max hub SR213 (the white one)
Hi Mate, im certain there is a setting that you can split the 2 separately, i am not home currenlty so i cannot check, but if you log in and put your ip adress in, then log in to your router using admin then password of your hub.
Let me know if you can find the setting your looking for, if not i will have a dig later and see if there is anything more concrete i can find.

Re: Sky max hub SR213 (the white one)
Hi job done the hard way today took most of the day deselecting the 5ghz band adding all the devices using the 2.4 band then switched the 5 back on. It's a pain as the reboot time can be long as well as having to reset and reinstall 15 devices.. An issue I came across was that the 2.4 band was hidden and did not show up automatically so needed to enter the SSID name in manually. It would have been far easier to have the bands split and just pick the appropriate one for the device. I did track down some instructions to go through web, but this kept trying to take me to a site that wanted a fee to set this up and was not going down that route. Sky did not think this through to make it user friendly, hopefully they correct this soon with an update, but not holding my breath.

Not for a Max Hub: the only option in the My Sky app is to switch off 5Ghz.
Some users have identified a workaround involving factory resetting the Hub and then using the direct interface rather than the app: if this is a bug rather than a feature then its use is inadvisable.

Re: Sky max hub SR213 (the white one)
As said Sky needs to update this so the router can have the bands split for people who are using 2.4 devices until 5 ghtz devices are more widely available. This would give you a easier choice when setting up as you could pick the band you need on the setup rather than being forced to disable the 5 ghts band. The only 5 ghtz smart plug I could find was Eightree, but that after many hours of failing to get it to connect even with the manufacture's help turns out NOT to be compatible with Sky max hub (SR213).So it's going back. Sky need to advise customers that the SR213 does not allow bands to be split as the more basic router, or as like me they will spend many hours trying to work round this issue trying to get their setup up and running with this router. It's not to bad if you only have a couple of devices but if like me you have 15 devices mainly smart plugs, but also my Epson printer scanner that gets used quite a bit. It a major task.
