Sky is so much slower than BT

Sky website tells me my broadband is fine. The people in my house says it doesn't work.

Ever since we moved from BT, the kids have constantly complained and I have noticed with work that Teams calls don't work and my computer 'can't connect to the server' multiple times a day.

I do the sky test and it says everything is OK and it says everything is fine. The speed test comes back at 152mbps. If I run a speed test via google, it says I'm at 3.39 to 5.19mbps. Both test are run on my laptop within seconds of each other.

What can I do. I'm not techy. I can't seem to speak to anyone at Sky. Their website tells me we're good when clearly we are not.

I'm feeling decidedly frustrated and stuck. And really wishing I hadn't moved from BT.

Re: Sky is so much slower than BT

Are you able to do a speed test using a computer and an ethernet cable to the Sky Hub? This will give you an accurate record of your speed versus a WiFi speed test.

I suspect  that the Wi-Fi signal from the Sky hub is not as strong and fast as what you had with the BT hub.

Sky can supply boosters or extenders but you will need to contact them and they may come with a cost.

Alternatively (and recognizing that you say you are not a techie) you could purchase  your own mesh system.  Many are pretty easy to set up and will likely be better then Sky supplied equipment. And you could use your mesh with any provider if and when you change.
