Sky full fibre Gigafast

I currently have Sky Gfast (154mbps) upgrading to Sky full fibre Gigafast on the 7th October. On my order it says new hub to be dispatched. Is the new one sufficient enough? I do have my own but can you still not just plug your own router in when with sky?

TIA

You can still use your own hub if you want

As long as it's compatible: a G.fast router (which would use a modem) might not have a WAN port for FTTP.
