Sky fibre

Recently got Sky fibre installed.......I get almost 500 mbs speed in the room where the router is......At the other end of the Average 28 mbs. small house...bungalow.What's happening here?

  • Once the signal has been through a few walls at the other end of the property it's condiserably less powerful that it is in the same room the router is situated. 

 

You could try changing the WiFi channel? 

 

If connecting devices with ethernet isn't an option you could contact Sky for a signal booster as part of the Sky Max setup, but there's a monthly charge for that.

 

I would look at homeplugs. 👍

That's inherent to WiFi, which is always zero Mbs after some tens of metres or on the other side of a few walls.  This happens more rapidly for 5Ghz than 2.4Ghz signal.
