Sky fibre failed installation.. it’s a joke
Awaited 1-6pm slot for full fibre.. team just rolled up at 17-00.. nice lads.. unfortunately can't install my friend., the connection box on the Highway is 4" to far away from kerb.. we need to drill from your garden to box to make connection.. we don't do excavation.. we'll have to get box on highway re-sited.. what a load of utter b*****x.. I said tell us what.. I only done this job for 40 yrs.. how about get your lads to move the box.. you know the guys that dig.. yh just 4 ".. tunnel under the kerb for you also.. & leave the coil & connect in the. Box.. ready for you to lay the 1" under the soil.. job done.. absolute shambles by Sky..also said your router will be behind tv.. but your landline won't work as it's in the hall., we don't do that,?im afraid.. disappointing & absolutely a disgrace
thankyou

Sky doesn't do digging: presumably this was Openreach or an Openreach subcontractor?
No ISP has a particularly good solution to the redundancy of internal telephone cabling once voice service moves to the router.

Re: Sky fibre failed installation.. it’s a joke
I have just wasted a day waiting for a full fibre installation, sold to me before Christmas that didn't happen, despite my confirming AGAIN via text 2 days ago.
My Sky app says it's "in progress" (and has my activation date listed as today) but there is another appointment in there for today saying it was cancelled. Nobody texted or called today. Shocking process and treatment of a customer. Would have expected much better of Sky.

@LH554 Sky are in the hands of the network operator who are either Openreach or City Fibre neither if whom are very good at telling people what they are doing. Call Sky tomorrow by when they should have got a report.
