@James449 If the extender is indeed working and not faulty, then unplug it and take it to a foot away from the hub, plug it back in and wait until it is all back up, ie to the 2 green lights, once it is there press the wps on the side off the hub about 5 seconds let it go you will see a light flash if it is correct in the little button, do the same to the extender, also you will see the light flash on it, leave them too do there thing and connect to each other, time varies from a few to 10 minutes, at the end lights on the buttons if i remember both go green, the middle light on the extender lights green may go off/on a few times, just leave it all a further five minutes, unplug it and move it back to where it was....
