Via Sky I have and yahoo. I have accessed my email via other computers so I have signed into my account several times this year.

Sky email account closure

Hello, 

I received an email saying my email account will be closed due to inactivity, however I use it daily. I am worried that even though I am using it it will be deleted. Is there anyway I can confirm this/stop it from happening?

They should not do this as you are logging in via the Sky website which is what you need to do to keep it open as all things being well you should not have been sent this email.

Agreed.  I've tried logging in via app, via sky.com on my phone, sky.com on my pc, and a laptop.  Nothing seems to make a difference.

I got the same email warning me that my account would soon be closed due to inactivity but it is my main email address and I have accessed it just about every day since setting it up several years ago. Something feels a bit odd about this 🤷‍♂️

Yes! I log in from that link every day. I did it this morning and still got that email this lunch time!

So, you ignore everything I've said about using the link to log in on a daily basis yet still being threatened with deletion of the email account? Oh and edit my post too.

Anyway, I did do my own thing, I phoned customer services and spoke to a human. He sent me the link to my phone and I signed in from my phone, and he said that sorted it (he was looking at my account at the time). He said they've been getting calls about the emails for the last few days. It was an automated email apparently.

If that's the case, it would suggest that logging in online via sky.com, as Sky has advised and as recommended here many times, does indeed cancel any scheduled deletion.

Clearly this a big issue at SKY.

I have always logged in via https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email/ to my emails on a DAILY BASIS and got the email from SKY that the email is closing down on the 4th August like many due to inactivity,

 

TOTAL NONSENSE I log in daily through this method so why on earth have I received this message!

 

I have just literally deleted EVERYTHING then resigned on via https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email/ using the 2 factor notification that I get sent.

 

It doesnt explain why MANY are getting this email. Either they are closing down there agreement with YAHOO and there is indeed a problem with the SKY systems on the management on these emails.

 

REALLY SHOCKING TO SEE A COMPANY LIKE SKY getting so many complaints about this and as usual have done NAFF ALL to resolve this.

I think this is a SCAM as we use our sky  emails every day!

I've read earlier threads that state this is not from sky. Emails from sky  are always say the name of the person I. The message and never send active links to click on! 
looks so real though!

Me too and I have had my account for over a decade and have used it daily in all that time.

 

I think the trick is to look at past correspondence to discover if SKY knew your name and used it but this email does not.

 

Also, the email I got does not end .com.

 

I'd say this is spam and plan to mark it as such.
