I have lived at my address for 5 years. I only get sky essential which is terrible with 3 kids. We cant watch tv at the same time or anything. Downloads take days.
another company has joined my area offering full fibre and sky still dont. Im still in contract for a year! Will i still have to pay termination fee if its a service they cant provide me? Friend works for sky and told me this. Does anyone know?

the fact sky doesn't provide fibre in your area is irrelevant and not a valid reason to be excused from the contract

Technically, yes, they can insist on that, but you may be able to negotiate.
If your connection to the Hub is lower than the 10Mbs set as the Universal Service Obligation, that could help.

Sky is not the designated USO ISP, but if they cannot source a better connection then that may be a useful leverage point.
