Sky broadband speed checker discrepency

I have an almost daily occurrence of my broadband speed dropping and the resolution of my streaming video reducing significantly. The Sky broadband service checker is telling me that my connection speed is 469mb when none of my streaming services are loading and the Which? Broadband test as well as the app provided by Ookla demonstrate zero connection

@David_Hvit  Do you have any wired devices that you can check the speed on?

@David_Hvit What if any other device do you have to check your service with, going to go with what is shown, see the post link if that may get you a better test result, www.fast.com

Hi, thanks for the replies.

 

i unfortunately don't have any wired devices that i can use to test my connection speed, my wireless devices report a strong WiFi signal with an internet connection. 

I have only been with Sky several weeks but have noticed an almost daily intermittent drop in speed that typically resolves after a few minutes. Today my streaming video dropped to what looked like 240p for several minutes before cutting out completely for around 20-30mins. The Sky service checker reported no faults and speeds over 400mb which clearly wasn't the case so I attempted to check this with the other services mentioned.

 

I restarted the hub which appeared to correct the issue. But further testing with the other speed checkers mentioned (including fast.com) show speeds significantly lower than those provided by the Sky service checker. I'll maybe do comparison checks a few times a week to keep an eye on it.

@David_Hvit Speed will go up and down as demand on the Network is required both on Sky/OR on my FF500 feed, i have seen it as low as 200Mb/s for a sustained period, does not matter as NO devices were struggling with anything, but i was checking for another OP just like you with speed issue's at that particular time! Going to have a quick re-read at your post but cannot do that while replying to this message!

@David_Hvit When you get sometime, can you say what sky hub you are using currently and if you have any extender's/pods in use with it!

Do not see anything in your posting, also take a look at the link has the fast test with the hub speed and the device speed that i did on a mobile wireless connection!
