Sky broadband service checker??

Last night my internet went off, and I noticed the red LOS light on the fibre OTN box had come on, indicating an issue outside my house on the fibre network.

I did the service checker thing in the My Sky app, and it gave a green tick for being connected to my router, 500mb speed test, etc.

So I then completely powered off my OTN box and router, and the Sky app broadband checker STILL said it was connecting to my router at 500mb speeds.  It did this all the time the internet was down and it was late so I went to bed.

All was fine when I powered up this morning, but how can the service checker be "connecting to my router" and giving a green tick when I've unplugged it???

Hi @reebokrebel

Unfortunately the service checker only pulls info from your hub/line at a set interval so if you have an outage the checker may show green for a while first before the problem is flagged. Overnight maintenance if often done on both Openreach & Sky networks so thats likely the reason your connection went down late on and was back in the morning.
